Christina Rowell
I started knitting years ago as a stress reliever for a fast-paced career in the film industry and eventually I was knitting all the time – especially when traffic came to a grinding halt on Los Angeles’ 101/405 freeways. I knew my habit was bordering on obsessive when a fellow commuter laughed at me knitting socks at a stop light, “I’ve never seen THAT before” – yes, well, it’s LA traffic, you do what you can :) Sock knitting turned into sock designing and I found myself being inspired by everything around me - flowers, cables, motifs, geometric shapes - and LOVE doing colorwork socks. Some of my patterns even use a 3-yarn stranded method which is crazy fun and challenging!
The Sock Ruler is perfect for someone like me who always has multiple socks in progress. I recently took the Sock Ruler on a trip with me and it was perfect to use on the plane - I love that it's flat and wide enough so it stores against the side of my bag (I don't have to go rummaging to the bottom of the bag to find it) or worry about it rolling off my plane table.
When I'm not knitting/designing socks, I am also an indie dyer. I often put together sock yarn kits with hand-dyed yarn, a handmade project bag and pattern. I did a special kit a while back that had the yarn, bag, pattern and was thrilled to include the Sock Ruler (and my customers loved it)!
Thanks so much for a BRILLIANT product.
